London, 2 November 2026
Splitstone Capital LLP, a UK & Ireland-focused private equity firm specialising in corporate carve-outs, today announces the appointment of James Sharp as Partner and Head of Special Situations.
James brings extensive experience across private equity, lender portfolio management and special situations advisory, with a particular focus on complex transactions, operational transformation and businesses undergoing significant change.
James and Splitstone’s Managing Partner, Peter Foxwood, previously worked alongside each other at a private equity firm specialising in corporate carve-outs. Their established working relationship provides a strong foundation as Splitstone continues to support corporates with increasingly complex divestments.
In his new role, James will focus on identifying, executing and managing investments in corporate carve-outs and businesses with significant operational or financial transformation potential.
The appointment follows a period of strong momentum for Splitstone, which has agreed two acquisitions since launching in early 2025, both carve-outs of UK and European businesses from US corporate sellers.
Peter Foxwood, Managing Partner at Splitstone Capital, commented:
“Today marks a pivotal moment for Splitstone, and I’m delighted to welcome James to the firm. Having worked alongside each other previously, I know first-hand the experience and judgement he brings to the table.
“His background in corporate carve-outs is a natural fit with our investment strategy, but his broader experience is particularly relevant to where we see the market developing. We are increasingly being approached by corporates looking for solutions for their more challenging divisions which need genuine operational and financial transformation. James’s experience in lender portfolio management and special situations advisory will be hugely valuable as we acquire these businesses, stand them up on their own and help them realise their potential.”
James Sharp, Partner and Head of Special Situations, added:
“I’m excited to be joining Splitstone at a time when the opportunity for specialist investors to support corporates through complex situations continues to grow. Having worked alongside Peter previously, I know the strength of the team’s approach and its ability to execute challenging transactions. I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued growth and working with management teams to deliver successful business transformations.”
