London-based Splitstone Capital LLP (“Splitstone”) launches private equity firm specialising in corporate carveouts with £100 Million of capital available to deploy

7th January 2025: London-based Splitstone Capital LLP (“Splitstone”) launches private equity firm specialising in corporate carveouts with £100 million of capital available to deploy.

Splitstone’s mission is to revitalise non-core divisions of larger companies acquired through corporate carveouts. The launch has been supported by its strategic partner, Omni Advisory Limited (“Omni”), an established London-based multi-asset manager.

With £100 million of capital available to invest, Splitstone targets acquisitions of UK and Irish-headquartered carveouts within the industrials and business services sectors. The firm focuses on acquiring businesses with a turnover of £20-100+ million and EBITDA of up to £20 million.

Splitstone’s founding team is committed to partnering with corporates to acquire non-core divisions which have potential for transformation and require a specialist, operationally-focussed investor. Building strong relationships with management teams, Splitstone will provide its acquisition targets with the renewed focus, empowerment and capital required to grow.

The Splitstone team has extensive experience navigating complex carveout transactions, with a proven ability to identify and implement creative solutions tailored to each deal’s unique challenges. The team has led more than 14 carveout transactions as a principal investor and completed more than 35 private equity deals. This experience enables Splitstone to deliver seamless and efficient carveout transactions realising both the sellers’ and management teams’ ownership transition objectives.

Committed to helping businesses thrive under new ownership, Splitstone’s typical hold period will range from three to seven years.

Peter Wood, Founder and Managing Partner of Splitstone, said:

“Splitstone was created to offer corporate vendors of non-core divisions a professional solution in the lower mid-market. With other investors having moved up in deal size, there are few options for corporates seeking a new home for their non-core divisions in our target segment. The support from our strategic partner, Omni, means we have the capital and resources necessary to transact from day one. Our committed capital and deep expertise in carveout transactions will enable us to deliver complex deals efficiently. Post-acquisition, we look forward to unlocking businesses’ growth potential through operational and strategic transformation in partnership with management teams.”

Steven Clark, Partner and Chairman of Splitstone, added:

“I am delighted to have partnered with Peter Wood to set up Splitstone. The firm fills an important gap in the market by providing solutions for companies looking to divest smaller non-core divisions than most of the existing investors in the space will currently consider. We’re excited to work with businesses ready for transformation and growth. I am proud to support and work alongside Peter as he builds out Splitstone to create a valuable proposition for corporates looking for creative solutions to create value.”
